Our Newest Project
We decided we didn't want to pay $300 - $600 for a headboard for our bed. So we decided to design and build our own. So here are some pictures of our latest creation. We had initially put our circular candle holder given to us as a wedding gift as a artist flare for decor. But, we may just have to find another home for that.
We took plywood - batting and material. Those three things - a saw and a staple gun and it is amazing what you can build. Troy attached it to the wall so it didn't need legs or so it wasn't physically attached to the bed. So - unto the next project! In some ways I think we both would like for it to be a house but.....we are open to many ideas. So if you have an idea or a project you did and loved let us know.
We were at Pier 1 last night and they had a head board there for $595.00 ...hmmmm maybe we should go into business. Our supplies cost us less than $30.00 and it took one night. We do take orders :) with very little mark -up.

I say keep the Potterybarn Candle holder thingy!
It's modern and so's the bed!
Good work kids!

Looks great! You guys are so creative!!
That is so nice! And how great to have a handy husband. :) I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the next project . . .
Very cool - ever think of working for trading spaces? :) We used to have a headboard but got rid of it because it was hideously ugly. I've thought about painting a headboard on the wall but i don't know if matt will go for it. :)
I have an idea for your next project.......a baby!!!! ahem....love ya guys. the head board looks awesome i am so impressed. hope youre having a great week. love ya, holly
Incredible headboard! So, when is the home decorating book being published?
It was great to see you in February. You are as beautiful as ever!
Nice job guys. You all are just so handy it's ridiculous. It's too bad you don't live near the Joliet area. We have about 300 projects to tackle these days...all in good time. We're not blessed with the same handiness as you guys. We're one of those Murphy's law couples..if it can go wrong it will...at least with home improvement projects! =) Oh well. It's always fun to keep updated with you guys!
